PRESIDENT TRUMP IMPEACHMENT GATHERS MOMENTUM

TRUMP-0e831d3c

A race by Democrats to remove President Donald Trump from office is gathering momentum as some of his fellow Republicans begin to break ranks.

The House of Representatives’ third most senior Republican, Liz Cheney, said she would vote to impeach Trump over last week’s storming of Congress.

Earlier, President Trump took no responsibility for the riot, which resulted in five deaths.

He will be succeeded by Joe Biden, a Democrat, on 20th January.

The House plans to vote today to charge Trump with inciting insurrection, with Democrats saying the president encouraged his supporters to storm the Capitol building at a speech before the riot.
