SCHOOLS, CHURCHES TO OPEN AS BARS REMAIN CLOSED

President Museveni has directed that schools and all educational institutions should reopen for finalists by October 15th.

In his 20th presidential address on Covid -19 last night, president Museveni said that after a period of over 6 months, schools should reopen to allow finalists complete the academic year, that is  P-7, S-4, S-6, finalists in tertiary institutions and universities.

He said those in others classes will be considered in January next year.

The President announced that the Places of worship should also open but without exceeding 70 worshippers at the time.

The International Airport and land borders will be opened for only tourists, coming in and going out, provided they tested negative 72 hours before arrival in Uganda.

The President also announced that sports activities will be allowed to resume provided there are no spectators in the stadium.

Curfew, from 9pm to 6am, will be maintained; but for the boda bodas, their movements must always end at 6pm.

President Yoweri Museveni has maintained the closure of bars, gyms, cinemas, gaming areas, Casinos, Mobile Markets, monthly livestock markets.
