TWO KILLED IN MOB ACTION AFTER THEY WERE RELEASED ON BAIL IN MBARARA

Two people have been confirmed dead as a result of Mob action in Bukiiro sub county, Mbarara district.

According to Samson Kasasira the Rwizi Regional spokesperson yesterday at around 09am, a family of five members all residents of Kanyigiri village, Nyarubungo parish, Bukiiro sub county , Mbarara district were attacked by an angry mob while they checked on their gardens.

These family members have been identified as Innocent Muhairwe 58 years, Alex Ssenyonga 22, Lawrence Asingwire 18, Posiano Tukahebwa 24, and Cleophus Turyahebwa 24 years.

Kasasira says they had gone to check on the gardens which were earlier destroyed by mob following a court bail given to two murder suspects Senyonga Alex and Tukahebwa Posiano accused of murdering a boda boda rider of the same village and were released from prison three days ago.

Kasasira says that during the scuffle two people including Muhairwe Innocent the father and his son Ssenyonga Alex died on spot while others managed to sneak away from the mob with serious injuries.

He says Tukamuhabwa and Turyahebwa are still in hiding while Asingwire managed to escape and sought safe custody at police and is now at Mbarara central police station.

Kasasira says they are investigating the matter as they hunt those who participated in the mob.
